@lokalnyork6 years ago Wow, that second one is cool!
The only alteration I would do is ether spray it lightly white (so light can still pass through) or sand tubes (if they are acrylic) to "hide" LED electronics better. You could also wrap them in fishing line, to give them ridged look (like plasmagun coil) ...

@jeru_jj11616 years ago Never thought of using sprues like this. Genius. 7

@monkeySkulls7 years ago I skipped this video since I don't ever run/play a game in a futuristic setting. Then I saw the lit up towers in a different video, and had to find where u made these.
    Amazing!
Now I just need to figure out how to incorporate sweet light up generators into a fantasy setting!
    Keep up the amazing work.

@dracomundos4 years ago This is awesome! If I ever get round to trying this I think I'd sand the LED casings with super fine sandpaper to give it a frosted look
  • @
@eenbigjay5 years ago Dont know how many times I can watch you stick all that crazy stuff on your builds with "that looks crap". Then you paint it and boom it looks f-ing amazing. Top man!!
  • @
@OverlordOfEcchi7 years ago Love the scratch builds you do. Also I really appreciate the two levels of detail you did. Both are good, but I can only really make the easy one myself right now. Thank you so much. 9

@Docsfortune3 years ago I am 5s in and i saw this in the part 1 of the modular walkway video, and i was BLOWN AWAY by this. I'm sure it's simple and easy, but it was crazy impressive and cool looking.

@SilentSooYun7 years ago This is just brilliant! Cheap, simple, and effective. I'm also a sucker for bits that light up my game table :)
One thing I might have done differently, though, is inverted the "Reactor" light, hiding the wire with a bit of straw. That way it would look like the light is pulsing down and feeding the "Shield Generators". I would probably also frost the plastic with a light sanding and/or glue thin bands of card around the tubes to hide their true nature as repurposed fairy lights :) ...

  • @
@mickdixon29424 years ago Some cooking wax paper wrapped around the pillars would diffuse the LEDs and disguise them as LEDs as well!

@26snoopy827 years ago I love this project I will have to do it one day. I'm into warhammer fantasy not age of Sigmar. I would like to make a village, and terrain from storm of magic, a bridge from a really old skirmish battle from 6th edition. It would be cool if you can make directions like this video. ... 3

@carlmasteopaolo52587 years ago WOW Those are friggin amazing! I completely agree about the scratch build as well! You wont find terrain models for war gaming with LIGHTS! (At least not for under a pretty penny!) 3
  • @
@tiaperrie30124 years ago I get the concern over GW terrain, but I will also say, regardless of watching your crafting vids I still own my share of GW brand scenery.
I like what you and so many other crafters out there do. I have recently found Bards Craft here on Youtube. My son likes his stuff because it's simple and we have a lot of items he uses at home.
I especially like the idea of being able to expand and have unique pieces to accompany current terrain. Keep it up.

  • @
@Penjulum4 years ago IDEA ::: For the bottom you could add a hinged 'top' using a strip of fabric for the hinge and a hidden latch inside secured with a toothpick pocked in from the outside with a decorative something disguising it. ...

@trentmurphy9387 years ago That was amazing....i wish I found you channel before life made me stop playing... 2

@davethepak6 years ago very awesome. I would love to see more videos (I have not caught up yet ....) incorporating 3d printed parts into terrain. I have been making terrain for a while (love your vids!) but only just recently got a 3d printer. thanks again for the vid. ...

@ericmallory30507 years ago Really happy to see you using 3d printed "bits" in your builds... Looking forward to more... Nice job on the gear design as well... Wasn't clear from the quick view, to me what software package you may have been using, did you mention? May be worth a quick note in the video notes...
Also, excellent re-purpose on the sprues... Good to see an old-school technique get such a high-tech look...

@danforthlaertes5 years ago For the gears (although it is less "crafting") you could use some toy gears; they have sets of them which are big and chunky and made of bright colored plastic. Those would be immediately easy to use, bulky and chunky, and might save some time. But, not as crafty and obviously more expensive. ...
  • @
@sokignano4 years ago You could try scuffing up the tubes with sand paper to increase the glow and so you cant see the LED's inside :)
  • @
@schokoxxx86933 years ago Hi, did you have a link for this LED´s? I cant find it.
  • @
    @Musicofyourbrain4 years ago hi
what 3d printer and model making software do you use?
  • @
@bradyinman65884 years ago What are those colored plastic bits, kind of flat with tubing?
  • @
@TheFreeBass5 years ago Quick tip for scoring card stock/ chipboard (as done for the square tubes): Don't.
Well, do... sorta... but don't use a blade. Instead use a dull instrument such as a (dead) ballpoint pen or the back of the tip of a butter knife (I use a clay sculpting tool). Press hard & crease your material as opposed to cutting it. Gives you a nicer finished corner, & can be done either on the inside or outside of your piece resulting in slightly different amounts of "sharpness". Unless of course the open/ butted edge look is what you're going for, then yeah... just ignore this tip & score away. :) ...

@StixFerryMan5 years ago Watching in no particular order. But... just watched one of your videos, obviously older then this, in which you stated that you would not get a 3D printer. I knew when you said that would not last long. They are just to useful and easy... wish I could afford one😢 ...

@rumo_der_wolpertinger77427 years ago Nice Video. But I would really like Fantasy themed crafts that Can be used for DnD to come back
(I know you Said this could be used for DnD, but from my Point of view, mechanicical machines don't fit in an DnD atmosphere. Will you make non futuristic, fantasy themed Videos again? ...

@RussNo16 years ago How many millions of dollars does a 3d printer cost?
  • @
@LiliaArmoury2 years ago well it seems your tutorial is going to outlast gw's product, they are pulling the void shield generator from their range and the most recent rules for it were in a recently discontinued expansion
  • @
@christopherthurman54244 years ago 19 people disliked this video... that's 19 people who are wrong
  • @
@the75695 years ago People complaing about GW not getting money for their insanely over priced models. They're making a HUGE profit margin, if they want to make money they should competively price their products
