Step by step procedure on how to cook Calamares. LUTONG BATANGAS
Ingredients:
Fresh Squid (cleaned and sliced)
salt and pepper to taste
Bread crumbs
1 egg
Cooking oil
For the breading mixture:
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Cornstarch
Procedure:
1. Season the fresh squid with salt and pepper. Then set aside.
2. To prepare the breading mixture: in a separste bowl mix the all purpose flour, constarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika.
3. Beat the egg and set aside.
4. Dip the squid in the egg then coat it with breading and bread crumbs. Just repeat the process until all the squids are coated.
5. Heat the pan and pour the cooking oil. Make sure the oil is heated enough before you place the calari.
6. Deep fry the calamari and wait until golden brown in color.
7. Serve with your favorite dip!
