INGREDIENTS OF MAKHANA KHEER

150 grams lotus seed pops
1 cup sugar
1 litre milk
7 cashews
3 tablespoon ghee
5 pinch saffron
7 almonds
1/2 teaspoon green cardamom
1/4 cup raisins
HOW TO MAKE MAKHANA KHEER
Step 1 / 4 Roast The Dried Fruits In A Pan
Here's how you start preparing this delicious dessert, take almonds, cashews and crush them into small pieces. Then, take a pan over medium flame and add some ghee to it. When the ghee is hot enough, add the lotus seed pops along with the crushed almonds, cashews and roast them till the lotus seeds turn crispy and the cashews turn golden. Then, turn off the flame and keep them aside.
Step 2 / 4 Grind The Roasted Dried Fruits And Boil The Milk
Now, take a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame and add milk to it. In the meantime, take 3/4th of the lotus seed pops, almonds, and cashews and add it to a grinder. Grind it to form a powder.
Step 3 / 4 Stir The Mix Well
When the milk starts boiling, add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron and the powdered mixture to the pan. Stir the mixture for a minute and then, add the rest of the cashews, almonds and lotus seed pops.
Step 4 / 4 Let It Simmer And Serve!
Stir the mixture for about 10 minutes or until the lotus seed pops turn soft and the rest of the mixture turns creamy. Then, let it simmer for another minute and turn off the flame. Transfer the kheer to a serving bowl and garnish it with almonds or cashews, if you wish, serve warm or refrigerate for a couple of minutes to enjoy it chilled
Tips
To make the kheer more amazing and creamy you can some crushed almonds.
Give an exotic touch to your kheer by adding some dried berries.
