When the police arrived to the house, it turned out these cops were actually FBI agents sent to investigate the opened abandoned safe. When the FBI agents arrived, they investigated the safe, interrogated Carter and Lizzy, and even arrested Carter and put Carter in handcuffs! The safe is smashed open.
