Everyone loves good and healthy food. We have four types of sentences in English Language. Types of Sentences 1. Declarative Sentence or Statement 2. Interrogative Sentence 3. Imperative Sentence 4. Exclamatory Sentence Declarative Sentence It is a declaration-a simple statement of a fact. It can be negative or positive. It begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop (.). It is also called an assertive sentence. Examples: I love old songs. I don't like liars. Interrogative Sentence It begins with a capital letter, ends with a question mark (?) it asks a question. Examples: When are you coming to Delhi? Why is he so upset? Am I late? Imperative Sentence It expresses commands, orders and requests. Examples: Clean this room fast. Please help me lift this box. Move in a line. Exclamatory Sentence It expresses a sudden and strong feeling. It normally begins with words like Alas ! oh ! wow ! Hurray followed by a mark of exclamation. Examples: Wow !
